The updated SG workbook was introduced in September of 2024, but limited adoption has been noticed in some operational areas. This is a concern, as failure to use the latest workbook can expose Surveyors to potential risks. These risks include calculation errors and inaccurate reporting. The APAC Workbook was designed to improve efficiency and accuracy in our processes by allowing direct upload of inspection data into customer portals. This not only saves time, but also reduces transcription errors and manual data entry. We highly encourage the use of the APAC Workbook to ensure the highest level of data accuracy and traceability. Our team also noticed that in one case, the surveyor averaged three consecutive readings even though the difference was 4mm, which goes against API standards. Additionally, an incorrect allowable temperature stratification was reported by a surveyor, which can be attributed to a lack of understanding of API standards. For remote versus physical gauging, the correct tolerance is 4 mm. When taking consecutive gauge readings, we should aim for an average of 3 mm. [Audio] This presentation will cover the CHEVRON STANDARD INSPECTION PROCEDURES and the upcoming CHANGE HIGHLIGHTS for 2024. These procedures are vital for ensuring the safety and quality of our operations. Any deviations from the inspection procedures must be promptly reported to CHEVRON, starting from the job nomination acceptance until completion. This includes situations where the terminal uses auto gauges instead of allowing line displacements. It is essential to inform CHEVRON of these cases in a timely manner. Moving forward, for product loadings, samples must be taken from the manifold at the beginning of the loading process, after 5 and 10 minutes. Furthermore, CHEVRON now requires duplicate custody transfer samples to be sealed on-site by the Inspector. These samples will be used to create official certificates of quality. The sample report must clearly indicate which samples were taken and which are sealed. At a minimum, UML shore tank samples and vessel running samples are necessary for tanks where COQs have been issued. It is recommended to review section 1.1.4.3 for more information on this.
