[Audio] The History of Alum Rock Before Alum Rock was a thing the Ohlone Indians called this place home The Ohlone Indians called this area " Aguague" which means watering place Alum rock was part of the Spanish Pueblo System in 1777 Alum Rock Park was the first Municipal Park in California

[Audio] The Mission of T.C Smith and E.B Goodrich They decided they wanted to have a place where a mother would take her child They built mineral springs that became a main attraction at one point of time at the park These men built hotels knowing that the area was about to become very popular They ended up making Alum Rock Park a resort, and people loved it

[Audio] The Popularity Spike On one Sunday the park brought in 10,000 visitors They hosted concerts, had a few amusement park rides, and had swimming pools to keep the visitors occupied The growth of the guest was due to the fast growth of the Silicone Valley

[Audio] Modern day Alum Rock. Alum Rock is now a district in San Jose California This area also some cool activities like a country club Emma Punch Farm And Raging Waters Alum Rock park is still around, and it contains many historical architecture such as a passenger train they have for show

[Audio] The Summary. Alum Rock is mainly known for its rich history that few people know about If it was'nt for people like T.C Smith and E.B Goodrich Alum Rock would'nt be a thing The Silicon Valley's growth sparked the growth of Alum Rock
