Mia’s body and brain may experience a  variety of biological changes simultaneously  that make this period a learning opportunity and risk for her.

Early intervention strategies are among the core principles of  disease prevention and health promotion Mia may be physically mature but she still may be  socially, emotionally, and cognitively immature.

Intervention 1: GRIP and CHILD framework  can help navigate emotional and social issues brought on by puberty. Gather insights on the complex emotional, social and physical issues Amygdala is been used to make decisions, associated with  emotions, impulses, aggression , and instinctive behaviour, lead girls to self-harm and suicidal behaviour.

Involvement with  school counsellors, youth health services and her parents  can help Mia’s academic demotivation and reduce health risk factors.  This is a  strength as the cost is free  but restricted because of parents English skills. GRIP practice and can be the difference to Mia building her resilience.

Intervention 2: Practical and  active strategies that utilise a strengths-based approach  that support Mia’s abilities in sports and visual arts Free NSW Health services such as Fairfield Liverpool Youth Health Team (FLYHT) or High Street Youth Health Service  maintain physical wellbeing and manage mental stress . The disadvantage would be refusing participation if her  emotions are imbalanced and overwhelmed Free o nline services such as  headspace

Intervention 3: Promoting a  safe school environment  for Mia through effective pedagogical practices. Maturity may  prompt changes in the way that others relate to her  and may explain her changed attitude towards school.

Strength from engaging students with influencers can be a vehicle for promoting endurance necessary to face life’s instabilities through self- reflection.
