[Audio] Hierarchy of Controls: Elimination or substitution – Where you remove or substitute the hazard for example replacing organic base to water based Glue. Engineering control – where you need to change the physical work place to cage the guard and protect person. Administrative or work practice control – where SOPs are developed and followed, signage are put, audit and inspection done to prevent from hazard. Personal Protective equipment – this is last line of hierarchy of controls and if fails person is exposed to hazard. Hence right type of PPEs must be used..

[Audio] Personal protective equipment that is PPEs are divided into two broad categories – 1 Non Respirator and other respirator. Non respiratory protection involves head protection i.e. helmets, eye protection that is goggles and face shield, ear protection that is ear muff and ear plugs, hand protection that is hand gloves, foot protection that is safety shoes and gum shoes, body protection that is aprons and full body suits. Respiratory protection provides protection to respiratory system and it involved masks, half and full mask cartridges, self contained breathing apparatus – 45 minutes duration called SCBS, where as 15 minutes duration called SCABA and supply air breathing sets..
