Scene 1 (0s)

[Audio] Earth has existed for 4.5 billion years. In that time, it has undergone amazing transformations as a variety of geologic processes that have changed the planet. Eras, at the same time, encompass major intervals of time and are defined based on the fossil life-forms found in the rock layers, and the Law of Superposition. The given geological time scale divides up this time interval into the Paleozoic era, Mesozoic and Cenozoic. In today's presentation we'll try to give brief information about what is the Cenozoic era and why does it prevail among others. The Cenozoic spans only about 65 million years, from the end of the Cretaceous Period and the extinction of non-avian dinosaurs to the present. The Cenozoic is sometimes called the Age of Mammals but it could have been called the " Age of Flowering Plants" or the "Age of Insects" or the " Age of Teleost Fish" or the "Age of Birds" just as accurately. So, themes as: mammals, plants, and the origin of humans will be discussed during next slides.
