[Audio] This annual meeting serves as an overview of the Title I program, what the overall purpose of Title I is, how the funds are being used at the school, how as parents you can become involved in your children's education at Teague Middle school, and school curriculum and assessment information..

Scene 4 (59s)

[Audio] Title I, Part A is an education program paid for by the U.S. government. The federal government gives billions of dollars to states to divide among the school districts. School districts determine which schools are entitled to Title I dollars. As a federal entitlement grant, school districts do not have to submit a competitive grant application to the Florida department of education. The most critical point to takeaway here is that the goal of Title I is to increase achievement for every student..

Scene 5 (1m 32s)

[Audio] After State assessment results are reviewed, administration determines the focus for the next school year. The picture shows the part of a schoolwide plan that focuses on student achievement. When administration knows how much money the school will receive from a Title I grant, we can then decide how to spend the money provided based on the areas of focus..

Scene 6 (1m 54s)

[Audio] School leadership at each Title I school, works through a needs assessment when deciding how to budget the funds. At Teague Middle, school leadership determined that instructional coaching staff, a full-time Reading teacher, and a Media Center assistant would be the most effective usage of the bulk of the funds. These positions are in addition to those provided by the school district via the general allocation formula. Without Title I funds, we would not be able to have these vital staff members who work so hard to help our students (and staff members) succeed. We also strive to provide opportunities for students to engage in content using laptops for educational purposes, which these funds assisted with that focus. Funds were used to purchase a Minga subscription, which is our hallway pass, and tardy tracking system. This system assists us decreasing the number of students in the hallway at one moment, which increases safety and decreases missed academic learning time. Last summer, we clearly noticed the need for summer learning opportunities, but did not have funding to offer that opportunity. The summer of 2026 will have an extended learning program thanks to the funds provided by the Title I grant. The remaining funds are allocated for our Parent and Family Engagement night events, which provides resources, important updates, and strategies for families to bridge the learning gap between home and school. If the state's final approval of the budget is the same as the district initially anticipated, then we will be able to order additional windows laptops and supplies for classroom use..

Scene 7 (3m 32s)

[Audio] Parent input on Title I events is welcome at anytime! We read all the feedback forms submitted at every parent and family engagement night event, and have frequently used that feedback to better suit the needs of our families. During the creation of the 2026-2027 Schoolwide Plan, 1 School Advisory Counsil meeting will be dedicated as a collaborative session for parent input. If you do not regularly attend School Advisory Counsil meetings, you will still have an opportunity for input of the Schoolwide plan using a Google Form. This Google Form survey will be sent out around the same timeframe as the collaborative session..

Scene 14 (5m 36s)

[Audio] A large component of Title I, Part A is parent and family engagement, and each Title I school is required to develop a parent and family engagement plan. This plan is developed toward the end of the school year, usually March or April, for the upcoming school year. Here are the Parent and Family Engagement activities that we have planned for this school year, which are also located in our Parent and Family Engagement Plan.
