OVERALL ASSESSMENT

Scene 32 (8m 5s)

The current deployment and employment of forces and capabilities deterred and prevented the ASG from conducting acts of terrorism in the city to include landing/docking in the coastal communities. The forces were able to make adjustment to counter any action of the threat in the “new normal”. Security capabilities were enhanced like the installation of new X-ray machines at the Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) and in the port. Sustain collaboration with the LGU (TWG-PCVE) prevented the terrorists radicalization of those most vulnerable. The relative secured situation will sustain the economic activities with Zamboanga City as the hub to the region. Investments will continue to pour in just like the opening of SM Mindpro last 08 Dec 20. Support to law enforcement agencies especially in anti-smuggling had been productive

Campaign Assessment Against the LTGs

Scene 34 (8m 50s)

Way Ahead

To continue to assess the preparedness of troops to abnormal eventualities thru simulated exercises Sustain strong credible deterrence especially in the coastal communities to discourage terrorist infiltration To enhance the Security Measures with the ZCPO, PNP thru the Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Council under the ”New Normal” situation To continuously support the Inter-Agency Task Force Covid Zamboanga (IATFC-Z) in preventing the further spread of the virus To continue to assist other law enforcement agencies

Scene 35 (9m 14s)

Issues

Uncoordinated operations conducted by the PRO9 could place the city favorable security condition in an awkward situation especially on the threat planned action which most of the time were associated with IED bombing. IED components presented to be recovered are not commensurate to a planned atrocity that could have significant impact Overload of tasks that should be performed by the PNP from the local government units and other agencies spread the forces thinly (covid-19 security of facilities and other activities to include the protocols, securing confiscated contrabands, security detail) Possible contamination with the covid-19 virus that could result to small unit lockdown
